New Leadership in MEF North and Latin America

MEF  has announced the results of its 2012 North and Latin America board elections.
 
The elections took place at the international trade association’s regional AGMs held in Miami as part of the third annual MEF Americas 2012, where over 160 senior mobile executives from across North and Latin America’s mobile ecosystems gathered and the inaugural Battle of the Start-ups competition in association Red Herring also took place.
 
Ron Czerny, CEO of Playphone, who previously chaired MEF’s LatAm Chapter, was elected North America Chair by the new Board and Filipe Roup Rosa, Business Development Director at Boku, was elected as MEF LatAm Chair.
 
Former MEF North America Chair, Gary Schwartz was re-elected to the regional Board and will take up the role of Special Representative to MEF Global to drive m-Commerce and growth initiatives.

Upon his re-election, Ron Czerny said: “I am very proud of what has been achieved by MEF LatAm in the last two years; but for me it is just the beginning and I will continue to support MEF’s development now as North America Chair. With such a strong new Board representing all mobile stakeholders, the vision is to enable all MEF members to get closer to Silicon Valley to enhance and share MEF’s eleven years of knowledge and experience, bringing our global community including a focus on Growth Markets to the heart of the mobile industry.”

Former MEF LatAm General Manager and newly elected MEF LatAm Chair, Filipe Rosa said: “I am very excited to be a part of the LatAm Board again as the new Chair. I am glad to see that there is more and more focus on emergent markets such as Latin America as this region represents more than 600 million people which is great opportunities for businesses in the mobile industry
